Summary of Major Responsibilities

The Business Development Research Analyst will complete a wide range of quantitative and qualitative analyses to help inform and justify corporate development initiatives. This position will consult with stakeholders across the industry and throughout Exact Sciences to seek solutions for strategic and operational challenges by conducting analyses and building models to support decision making. This role will provide exposure to many facets of running a company, including product development, operational execution, commercialization, and globalization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Consult with stakeholders across the industry and inside Exact Sciences (cross-functional) to seek solutions for strategic and operational challenges
  • Build and maintain models to support fact-based decision making with regards to essential corporate development plans and initiatives, both within and outside the US
  • Ensure awareness of and communicate relevant market and industry trends, FDA regulations, competitor products, and leading marketing strategies to ensure the organization remains competitive and meets or exceeds the long range plan
  • Effectively compile and communicate findings verbally, visually, and in writing
  • Prepare presentations for both internal and external audiences
  • Assist in negotiations and diligence activities as required
  • Support the Leadership team as they make key strategic decisions

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Business or Finance
  • Two plus years of business experience, preferably in investment banking, finance, business or strategic consulting, and/or biotech
  • Strong business acumen – ability to understand, interpret, and think about broad corporate development strategies and support with effective analysis
  • Ability to manage and prioritize strategies, initiatives, and workload while showing interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven qualitative and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office related applications
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Adaptable, open to change and able to work in ambiguous situations and respond to new information or unexpected circumstances and rapid changes of direction

Desired Characteristics

  • MBA or MS in relevant field
  • Experience leading market research and/or corporate diligence

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in an office setting and operate a telephone system and a computer
