Summary of Major Responsibilities

The Marketing Manager, Heathcare Provider determines the optimal promotional strategy and tactical mix to increase product awareness, conversion and utilization among healthcare professionals, specifically primary care and gastroenterologists. In this role, s/he is responsible for identifying potential partners and opportunities to educate healthcare providers on the clinical validity and utility of Cologuard, developing agreements, and executing programs.  S/he is also responsible for exploring and executing on healthcare professional-facing advertising opportunities. The Manager, Medical Education will collaborate closely with Medical Affairs to ensure that partners, programs, and content meet high standards of quality, credibility, and trust to reach and influence targeted audiences for Cologuard.  The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding collaboration and project management skills including the ability to manage without authority, communicate effectively with marketing agencies and external partners, and manage budgets.

 

The Marketing Manager, Healthcare Provider will report to the Director of Marketing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, plan and execute medical education programs and tactics to support brand strategy and drive healthcare professional awareness, conversion and utilization of Cologuard; strong focus on digital tactics.
  • Identify, develop, plan and execute healthcare professional-facing advertising and native content programs for Cologuard; strong focus on print and digital tactics. 
  • Collaborate closely with Medical Affairs to deeply understand the Cologuard evidence and long-range plan, then identify marketing needs and opportunities to amplify and complement it. Ensure that all medical marketing partners, programs, and content meet high standards of quality, credibility, and trust to reach and influence targeted audiences for Cologuard. 
  • Manage marketing agencies and external partners to develop and execute programs targeted to healthcare professionals. Provide strategic, customer-centric, relevant, timely, and constructive feedback during development.
  • Partner with team members and cross-functional peers in Brand Marketing, Corporate Communications, Sales, and Market Access to ensure alignment and/or harmony of the core brand message platform and initiatives across physician and patient stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Analytics team to ensure appropriate analytical plans are developed and executed to measure promotional program effectiveness, efficiency, and ROI.  Support key longitudinal quantitative studies (ie, “attitudes, awareness, and usage” survey and “sales force effectiveness” survey); attend presentations, interpret findings, and socialize results and implications.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline (life science, engineering, marketing, business, or related field of study)
  • Minimum of five to six years of commercial experience in the healthcare industry, focused on diagnostic, device, or pharmaceutical products (e.g. marketing, sales, medical affairs, new product planning, reimbursement, etc.)
  • Ability to motivate and lead teams of cross-functional resources in a matrixed organization with competing priorities, with or without direct authority or reporting relationships
  • Ability to manage and prioritize strategies, initiatives and workload proactively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Exceptional project management skills including coordination, communication and adherence to budget and completion goals, prioritization and troubleshooting
  • Exceptional interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Strong marketing/business acumen and experience managing external agencies
  • Adaptable, open to change, and able to work in ambiguous situations with some direction and respond to new information and unexpected circumstances
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office products
  • Willing to travel up to 25% of the time

Desired Characteristics

  • MBA or MS in relevant field
  • Previous experience with continuous improvement, lean, or six sigma initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to present to and influence senior leadership (VP level)
  • PMP Certification or project management experience
