Summary of Major Responsibilities

The Engineering Intern will assist in design, testing, and maintenance of manufacturing and facilities systems.  The position is intended to be a part-time opportunity for an engineering undergraduate to obtain hands-on experience in the area of manufacturing and facilities support while contributing to business critical projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist Engineering and Facilities personnel with testing and troubleshooting of production systems including automated filling and packaging lines and other automated systems.
  • Manage and complete trouble shooting and process improvement projects, drive issues to resolution, and report out on progress.
  • Develop and test engineering, operational, and maintenance procedures consistent with medical device quality regulations.
  • Collect and analyze system performance data, generate summary reports, and present results to the project team.
  • Identify and evaluate equipment for capital projects and work with a project team select the best option.
  • Assist with organization and identification of facility equipment and maintenance systems.
  • Develop facility, utility, and equipment drawings and scope of work documents to support projects.
  • Complete and maintain test documentation per GMP standards.

Qualifications

Mandatory Skills

  • Basic Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications (optional)

 

  • CAD drawing experience.

Education and Experience

  • Enrollment towards Bachelor’s degree in Chemical / Biological Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Preference giving to candidates with a record of outstanding academic achievement.

Physical Requirements

  • May be required to lift up to 25lbs on an infrequent basis up to 20% of the time.
