  • Summary of Major Responsibilities

    The Senior Finance Manager - Special Projects will oversee a portfolio of complex, financial projects and work to ensure their projects meet business objectives and are accomplished on time and within budget. Evaluate transactions for appropriate accounting treatment. Ensure that project related communications with cross-functional leaders is effective. This position reports to VP, Controller.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Coordinate with the Business Development function to ensure that complex transactions are accounted for properly and assist with financial process integration when necessary.
    • Consults with project sponsors and reviews project proposals to determine goals, time frame, funding, allotment of resources and procedures for accomplishing projects.
    • Supports financial due diligence process of potential business development opportunities.
    • Troubleshoots problems associated with coordination, development, or design of opportunities. Escalates issues when critical risks arise and maintains pulse with project activities to ensure progress.
    • Directly or indirectly leads cross-functional teams to execute on project tasks to include effective creation and management of timelines, budgets, resources, risks and project objectives.

    Required Qualifications

    • Degree in Accounting and/or MBA in Accounting, Finance
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience in public accounting or combination of public and private accounting including increasing management responsibility
    • Experience implementing financial processes and managing business integration projects
    • Professional certification (CPA, CIA, CMA)
    • PC proficiency, including Word and Excel
    • Able to travel (domestic and overseas) as necessary to accomplish department responsibilities, up to 25% of the time

    • Progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation is required

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to use computers daily in an interactive manner for extended periods of time and up to 8 hours per day
    • Ability to frequently and accurately communicate with employees, customers, and vendors in person, via the telephone or by email
    • Constant walking or motion to coordinate work and interact with co-workers
    • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis
