  • Summary of Major Responsibilities

    The Director, Marketing Operations will drive strategy, design and execution across our Sales & Marketing functions. The Director, Marketing operations provides leadership, guidance and execution of services to the commercial team.  This position involves solving operational challenges and streamlining processes while working in a highly cross-functional, highly visible role.  The ideal candidate will be analytical, have strong leadership skills, demonstrate attention to detail, and will be able to deliver in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. The role is highly collaborative and as such, the Director works closely with the sales department to optimize implementation and with the IT and analytics functions in conducting data analysis, data acquisition, database management and marketing automation. 

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Drive strong sales and marketing alignment with initiatives and processes that support strong lead management, improved lead quality, enhanced data quality with digestible data templates
    • Work closely with marketing, sales and commercial operations leadership to define our total addressable market, segmentation strategy and marketing mix
    • Manage all of marketing operations including lead management processes and metrics, lead campaign tracking, marketing automation systems, digital ecosystem and vendor management
    • Actively monitor, analyze and report on the health of marketing contribution to overall ROI and optimize investments accordingly
    • Monitor feedback from the marketing team to improve process and promote efficiency
    • Manage the progress of multiple strategic projects and prioritize with respect to timelines while meeting project milestones
    • Assist in the strategy and development of the Speaker Bureau in collaboration with our key business partners. Ensure alignment of operational process with business strategy. Provide proactive oversight of vendor execution including operational analytics/reporting, contracts management and field support.  Ensure flawless operational execution.
    • Provide support to various thought leader engagement initiatives, involving proposal generation, vendor selection, vendor management, and thought leader interactions and communications.
    • Collaborate with internal teams including marketing, sales operations, legal, regulatory, medical affairs, payer/access, corporate compliance and IT to ensure seamless execution of Marketing operations programs/projects.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or a related technical field
    • Minimum of ten years of experience in relevant diagnostics, pharmaceutical or medical device marketing experience. Marketing experience to include in-depth ROI analysis on marketing initiatives.
    • At least three years of direct leadership experience with demonstrated success in hiring, coaching and developing highly effective talent.
    • Direct experience developing and/or enhancing systems to operationalize processes for cross-functional teams or to report on progress with key stakeholders (i.e. lead management, performance dashboards, project tracking software, etc.).
    • Demonstrated experience improving, developing and implementing new processes.
    • Demonstrated strength in performing complex analyses and the ability to present data and recommendations to a variety of audiences throughout an organization.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational ability.
    • Demonstrated marketing awareness and business acumen – ability to understand, interpret and think about broad marketing and commercial strategies and support with effective analysis/data
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to operate in a cross cultural and complex matrix environment, and ability to build consensus across functions


    Desired characteristics:

    • Masters in Business Administration (MBA) preferred
    • Coursework completion and/or certification in project management, change management or lean six sigma.
    • Preferred experience in leading or supporting a business unit’s strategic planning process (to include the development of strategic priorities and the resource allocation and project planning).
