  • Summary of Major Responsibilities

    The Sr Director, Commercial Operations provides leadership for the overall Commercial Operations function. Commercial Operations works cross functionally to support operational programs and policies that drive the annual sales plan. This position reports to the Vice President of Commercial Operations and is based in our Madison, WI headquarters.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with areas of the business on strategic projects to advance the business
    • Collaborate with Sales and Analytics to develop sales metrics and utilize interactive analytics dashboards to generate actionable insights and coaching methods that Commercial Business Leaders can use to achieve and exceed goals
    • Drive cross functional standards in how to deploy sales and marketing strategy into actionable activities
    • Develop and implement initiatives that improve commercial performance leading to increased productivity and efficiency
    • Lead and develop teams responsible for sales administration, cross-functional project management, communications and logistics, meeting planning, field alignment, quota setting, CRM, incentive compensation and commercial effectiveness
    • Responsible for helping to create, implement and monitor sales infrastructure to enhance and support sales force operations including sales reporting, analytics, forecasting and sales force automation
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement



    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field
    • Minimum of 10 years of relevant diagnostics, pharmaceutical or medical device experience including 5 years of management experience
    • Direct experience developing and/or enhancing systems to operationalize processes for cross-functional teams or to report on progress with key stakeholders (i.e. lead management, performance dashboards, project tracking software, etc.).
    • Demonstrated experience improving, developing and implementing new processes.
    • Demonstrated strength in performing complex analyses and the ability to present data and recommendations to a variety of audiences throughout an organization.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational ability.

     Desired Characteristics

    • MBA or equivalent
    • Experience and certification in project management
    • Sales experience
    • Commercial operations experience
