  • Summary of Major Responsibilities

    The Senior Director, Commercial Effectiveness is accountable for the development, implementation, and active management of all commercial (customer facing and functional) training programs and initiatives. This includes new hire training, advanced and recurrent training, as well as additional developmental programs. This role directly supports the strategic and operational objectives of the commercial organization and reports to the VP, Commercial Operations.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Effectively collaborate with executive and senior leaders to establish learning and development processes and programs that include comprehensive and continual assessment of stakeholder needs through the application of learning tools and various resources, technology and metrics
    • Leads a team responsible for identifying, designing, and delivering impactful functional training for all commercial departments
    • Lead a training/development effort to create a constant learning environment including coordination of subject matter experts (SME) to create and deliver both in person and remote learning
    • Proactively and regularly report on key performance indicators (KPI’s) that measure the effectiveness of commercial training programs
    • Continually review training programs and processes to drive improvements in service delivery
    • Work cross functionally with OD team to ensure collaboration and alignment with companywide training initiatives and learning strategies

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field
    • 10 years of experience in a sales or commercial related function
    • 5 years of sales or commercial training experience
    • 3 years of leadership directly leading teams
    • Excellent presentation skills and experience in developing and delivering commercial (could include sales, medical affairs, marketing, market access) focused training
    • Strong consulting skills, with the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure the most effective identification of needs and application of talent development best practices, models and tools

     Desired Characteristics

    • Leadership development, coaching and/or communication credentials/certifications strongly preferred
    • Second line leadership preferred
