  • Summary of Major Responsibilities

    The Senior Market Access Training Manager position is to optimize commercial effectiveness through development and execution of curriculum focused on content for market access and the healthcare environment. The primary responsibilities are to assess training needs and execute in the design, development, and delivery of appropriate content for the sales organization and the Market Access Team.  Act as a primary liaison between the Commercial Effectiveness Team (CET), the Sales Leadership Team, and other commercial functions to identify and implement training strategies for other departments based on organizational priorities. 

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Participates in the development of training initiatives with other CET and cross-functional partners with a primary focus on the sales organization and the Market Access Team
    • Will work cross-functionally to identify needs and develop training for other commercial departments as needed
    • Alignment with sales and IC strategies, the role will design, develop, and deliver content in coordination with internal commercial functions
    • Directly or indirectly leads cross-functional teams to deliver training for MAMs at all levels of tenure
    • Knowledge delivery of the elements of market access including reimbursement, evolving healthcare topics, population health and quality metrics
    • Understanding of CG value proposition to enhance population health to drive screening gaps; how Exact Lab compliance engine drives results
    • Understanding of negotiation skills required to position pricing and contracting options to Labs and ACOs affiliated with health systems
    • Lead the design of curriculum and job aids that build mastery required to improve performance of the MAM team including: business analytics, clinical knowledge, advanced selling skills and project management
    • Deliver training through a variety of mediums (classroom, webinar, e-learning, teleconference, field visits, etc.)
    • Contribute to a collaborative environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences and are motivated to improve both their individual and team contributions to achieve desired business results
    • Maintains confidentiality always and enforces Sales Training and Exact Sciences Policies
    • Complies with all Exact Sciences Operational Guidelines and Code of Conduct and ensures that all activities, observed or taught, are also in accordance with these guidelines

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree Required
    • Minimum 8 years of experience in any of the following areas: contracting and coverage with national payers, medical group contracting, sales leadership in biotech, device or diagnostic laboratory companies, or extensive experience working in health plan contracting, coverage or case management
    • Strong business acumen, business planning, and collaboration skills
    • Ability to be flexible and adjust to multiple priorities
    • Proficiency with managing a CRM, business analytics tools, and Excel
    • Strong communication (written and oral), and presentation skills (small and large groups)
    • Demonstrates Leadership and Accountability in current role

    Desired Characteristics

    • Experience in project management and developing and delivering effective presentations
    • Contracting experience in the moldx and/or medical device arenas
    • Sales experience, training and/or leadership experience is preferred
    • Master’s Degree
    • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Tableau and Excel
    • Experience with contracting and long sales cycles
    • Experience leading advisory groups and mentoring
    • Experience in any type of stretch roles.
