  • Summary of Major Responsibilities

    The Metrology Coordinator will be the first point of contact for internal and external customers seeking support and/or information from the Metrology department.  The Metrology Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Metrology department, manage office functions including: work order coordination, internal and external customer communications, outsourcing and receiving of calibrated equipment and scheduling of technical services. 

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develops and maintains calibration schedules suitable for equipment being used across multiple Exact Sciences laboratory environments.
    • Support the Metrology department with coordination of equipment to be sent out for external calibrations.
    • Evaluate vendors, maintain and update vendor information, including contacts, pricing, lead times and services provided.
    • Assist Metrology in locating and purchasing parts, supplies and materials.
    • Provide concise and timely communication to internal and external customers.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
    • Assist in all aspects of project implementation as needed.
    • Setup, maintain and organize department files, information and parts inventory.
    • Administer the Metrology side of the CMMS system, including receiving work order request, assigning work orders and entering system data.

    Occasional Duties and Responsibilities

    • Travels locally between Exact Sciences locations.

    Qualifications

    Mandatory Skills

    • Good verbal and written communication skills and customer service oriented with professional interpersonal skills.
    • Creative problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in general business procedures and capable of prioritizing workflow.
    • Independent self-starter with positive attitude and above average organizational skills.
    • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Agile.
    • Adaptable, open to change, able to work in ambiguous situations and respond to new information and unexpected circumstances required.
    • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy required.
    • Must possess a valid driver's license, have no more than 2 moving violations in the past 36 months, and have no unresolved revocation or suspension issues.
    • Availability to support multiple facilities.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Familiarity with metrology management software.
    • Hands-on experience with equipment qualification.
    • Experience in a biotech manufacturing environment, preferably in a GMP and/or ISO13485 environment.
    • Knowledge of ISO 17025:2005 and 21 CFR Part 820 requirements in regards to inspection, measuring, and test equipment.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree preferred, with a business concentration, or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum 3 years’ customer service focused experience. 

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to use and wear safety protective gear/equipment (e.g. safety glasses, lab coat, gloves, etc.) and follow safety guidelines.
    • Ability to work with hazardous or flammable materials (e.g. chemicals, electrical equipment) so as not to endanger oneself or others.
    • Ability to use computers daily in an interactive manner for extended periods of time and up to 8 hours per day.
    • Ability to sit for an extended period of time.
    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to travel (by land and air), both domestically and internationally, on occasion.
    • Ability to frequently and accurately communicate with employees, customers, and vendors in person, via the telephone, or by email.
    • Constant walking or motion to coordinate work and interact with co-workers.
    • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis.
    • Regularly sets up, adjusts, assembles, controls, tests, positions, and operates objects and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
