  • Summary of Major Responsibilities

    The purpose of the Business Acumen Training Manager position is to optimize the effectiveness of sales force team members in the disciplines of business acumen. The primary responsibility is to conduct learning and development sessions to improve functional expertise pertaining to approved tools utilized for data analysis, prioritization of business opportunities, and effective territory management. This position will be an integrated business partner with additional stakeholders, including Sales Leadership, Data Analytics, and Commercial Operations teams. The training strategy is consistently aligned to brand and operational sales strategies. The Business Acumen Training Manager will be an integral link in the continuous learning feedback loop that is designed for on-going training needs analysis and improvement of Exact Sciences sales execution.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    This role will partner with Sales Training and Sales Leadership to assess sales force effectiveness related to tools utilized for data analysis, prioritization of business opportunities, and effective territory management. Participates in the development of field-based training initiatives with other Sales Training personnel and cross-functional partners as appropriate.

    • Facilitates “Gap Analysis” and creates & conducts live, and virtual group training designed to immediately impact on skill development and drive sales results
    • Conducts training using various mediums such as: Web-Ex, video conferencing and in-person facilitation
    • Collaborates with Sales Training, Sales Leadership, Data Analytics and Commercial Operations stakeholders to ensure optimal pull-through of all training programs to include: Initial Sales Training, Business Acumen, Data Analysis, and Territory Management
    • Serves as a resource to Sales Training, Sales, and Marketing for continuous learning related to sales execution
    • Coordinate and facilitate ongoing and best practice training and development with field sales leadership to develop a Best in Class field sales organization
    • Assists with large training events such as new product launches and field force expansions
    • Completes all special projects as assigned by National Sales Training Manager
    • Maintains a high level of market intelligence, including new product, developmental training methods, competitive intelligence, training programs and best practices
    • Maintains confidentiality and enforces Sales Training and Exact Sciences Policies
    • Complies with all Exact Sciences Operational Guidelines and Code of Conduct and ensures that all activities, observed or taught, are also in accordance with these guidelines
    • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Minimum four (4) years combination of sales and training experience
    • Strong clinical, selling skills and marketplace knowledge
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
    • Strong communication skills (written and oral)
    • Strong presentation skills (both small and large group)
    • Demonstrated Leadership
    • Demonstrated Accountability in current role
    • Demonstrates Initiative

    Desired Qualifications

    • Experience in project management and developing and delivering effective presentations
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategy
    • Previous field training experience
    • Miller Heiman Strategic Selling and/or Conceptual Selling certification
    • Product Launch or Expansion Launch experience
    • Experience leading advisory groups and mentoring
