  • Summary of Major Responsibilities

    The Business Integration Specialist plays a key role in helping projects meet business objectives. This role focuses on change initiatives – including changes to business processes, systems, environments, business integrations and organization structures. The primary focus will be creating and implementing change management plans that minimize employee resistance and maximize employee engagement. The Business Integration Specialist works with key people to facilitate faster adoption, greater utilization, and higher proficiency on the changes impacting employees in the organization to achieve better business results.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Helps ensure that project teams integrate change management activities into the overall project plan
    • Works with project teams and functional leaders to develop actionable and targeted change management plans – including communication plan, sponsor roadmap, stakeholder plan, training plan, and resistance management plan coordinating with change promoters such as HR, training, and communication teams
    • Engage with leadership and key stakeholders to fully understand organizational structure, business processes, and roles and responsibilities to develop a cultural awareness that will support positive adoption
    • Identifies effective change management strategy/ methodology and coaches others on how to apply it
    • Continuously monitors change readiness in business and proactively engages to support initiatives
    • Provides feedback and synchronizes efforts across projects and business units
    • Is an active and visible coach to change sponsors
    • Creates and manages measurement systems to track adoption, utilization, and proficiency of individual changes
    • Identifies potential resistance and capabilities gaps that could prevent acceptance and long-term adoption of change and works with key business owners to develop and implement corrective actions
    • Develops a process to work with project teams and functions on monitoring change and measuring acceptance
    • Diagnosis issues that can lead to poor change adoption and works with business towards a solution
    • Enables reinforcement mechanisms and celebrations of success

    Qualifications

    Skills

    • Experience with change management theories and understanding of the psychology of change
    • Familiarity with a variety of project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle
    • Excellent problem solving and root cause identification skills
    • Strong analytic and decision-making abilities
    • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
    • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
    • Demonstrated success with oral and written communications/presentations, influence and persuasion, results orientation, facilitation, and teamwork skills
    • Experience working in a matrix management organization with primary responsibility for project success while relying on a team of resources which may or may not be direct reports
    • Moderate to advanced proficiency with MS Project as well as MS Visio, Excel and PowerPoint

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
    • 5 or more years of Change Management experience with at least 3 years of experience in Project or Portfolio Management
    • Experience and knowledge of change management principles and methodologies (for example: Prosci certification, ADKAR, or other)
    • Assisted in the planning or execution of large-scale organizational change effort

    Preferred Experience

    • Change Management Professional designation

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to use computers daily in an interactive manner for extended periods of time and up to 8 hours per day
    • Ability to frequently and accurately communicate with employees, customers, and vendors in person, via the telephone or by email
    • Constant walking or motion to coordinate work and interact with co-workers
