  • Summary of Major Responsibilities

    The Staff Tax Accountant is responsible for assisting with the Company’s tax compliance, tax planning and accounting for income tax functions.  This position will work with finance personnel, service providers and other tax professionals in carrying out his or her responsibilities.  This position reports to the Senior Tax Manager.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assist in implementation of tax preparation and provision software.
    • Preparation of federal, international and state income tax returns including all related analysis and support.
    • Assist with fixed asset reporting for income tax purposes.
    • Assist with sales, use, and property tax functions.
    • Assist with audits of federal, state and local income tax filings.
    • Correspond with federal, state and local taxing jurisdictions regarding income tax notices.
    • Prepare yearly and quarterly accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) tax provision analysis for the US and International subsidiaries.
    • Assist with the financial statement audit and review process as it relates to the accounting for income taxes. Including drafting of income tax related SEC disclosures.
    • Liaison with operating management on tax issues and accounting staff on tax accounting issues as necessary.
    • Liaison with outside tax service providers as needed for tax compliance issues.
    • Assist with corporate tax planning as necessary.
    • Assist in monitoring tax law and regulatory changes and their related impact on the Company as necessary.
    • Ability to perform technical tax accounting research and related analysis as issues arise.
    • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
    • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
    • Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested.
    • Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.
    • Regular and reliable attendance

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to use computers daily in an interactive manner for extended periods of time and up to 8 hours per day.
    • Ability to sit for an extended period of time.
    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software Suite.
    • Knowledge of CCH research platform.
    • Working knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles and practices.
    • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Certified Public Accountant designation.
    • Public accounting experience.
    • Accounting internship experience.
    • Experience with OneSource tax compliance software.
    • Experience with SAP.
