  • Summary of Major Responsibilities

    The Senior SAP FICO Business Analyst serves as the knowledge expert liaison between SAP business users and IT/SAP configuration experts, internally and externally. Leads and assist in implementations of new modules and business acquisitions.  Lead and mentor the evaluating, prioritizing and managing of changes to the SAP system using appropriate change management processes.  Develops and provides training on SAP for users.


    Working with the Finance teams to understand emerging company objectives, this role will partner with functional areas to research gaps in functionality, gather requirements of users and present recommendations to both technical and business teams.  The individual will have a thorough understanding of the business processes and flows to enable the analysis of business requirements and the development of solutions for the business functions primarily between Finance and other departments.  In addition, this role is responsible for managing the day to day support and daily operations for the SAP platform as it relates to the Finance organization and will be required to collaborate with 3rd party vendors.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Support growing business with SAP enhancements and new implementations, including process and system design, integration testing, user training, and post go-live support.
    • Main liaison to business by partnering with business stakeholders, understanding their needs, prioritizing efforts, recommending changes/innovations, serving as the Subject Matter Expert for their area of expertise.
    • Coaching, mentoring, and training to develop power users within the business teams, as well as mentoring of other SAP Business Analysts.
    • Support the day to day business with open issues as first level support for end users.
    • Gather, analyze and document business and functional requirements. Translate needs of the business into applicable system design solutions.
    • Perform functional testing of SAP system changes and work with business users to complete and document user acceptance testing.
    • Develop and maintain training materials and train new SAP users and increase knowledge base of subject matter experts.
    • Coordinate with internal and external technical resources to resolve user issues and complete development tasks.
    • Support the current SAP FI/CO Configuration while supporting the migration to S/4 HANA.
    • Participate on business project teams to evaluate SAP changes/enhancements needed to achieve corporate objectives.
    • Support and learn other Finance and Accounting applications, as needed.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to use computers daily in an interactive manner for extended periods of time and up to 8 hours per day.
    • Ability to sit for an extended period of time.
    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and up to 6 hours at a time.


    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
    • 5+ years of experience with ERP design and configuration for Finance and Controlling modules, or equivalent business experience.
    • Strong understanding of Finance and Accounting business processes.
    • Expert functional knowledge of Finance and Controlling processes, as well as a strong understanding of the integration points of Finance modules/processes to other modules such as Materials Management/Inventory, Purchasing, Sales & Distribution, and Production Planning (costing).
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of an organization.
    • Experience in project management.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to self-direct.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, being solutions oriented. Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate cross-functionally.
    • Adaptable and flexible with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, frequently changing and evolving environment.
    • Strong knowledge of MS Office Tools (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Visio.
    • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with two or more of the following: SAP FI-AA, FI-AP, Tax, CO, Cost Accounting, SD.
    • S/4 HANA, BPC and Fiori experience.
    • Industry knowledge in Life Sciences, Pharmaceuticals, or Biotech manufacturing environment.
    • Knowledge of SAP best practices and relevant industry best practices.
    • Experience with onboarding acquisitions.
    • Lead role in full SAP implementation or multiple module implementations.
