  • Summary of Major Responsibilities

    The primary responsibilities of the position are to support the implementation and administration of information security policies, procedures and technologies to ensure the protection of networks, systems, applications and data. The Information Security Analyst will assist with the identification and mitigation of security-related risks and risks associated with Business Continuity Planning, SOC, and Disaster Recovery.


    The Information Security Analyst will also be involved with day-to-day security operations, including access audits, role validation, response to security events, and recommending corrective action. This role will help ensure compliance with all security policies and standards as well as with applicable regulations and laws. The Information Security Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that Information Security systems, policies, and procedures are properly maintained, reviewed and monitored. This role will be responsible for managing external vendors supporting security operations.


    The ideal candidate has an established track record of leading successful outcomes in collaboration with multiple stakeholders and teams in all areas of a business.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Experience complying with related industry regulations and preparing for responding to information security audits and questionnaires
    • Knowledge of common information security management frameworks (e.g. NIST, ISO 27000)
    • Understanding of related information technology (e.g. SIEM, firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, DLP, etc) and physical security assets
    • Knowledge of domain structures, user authentication, data encryption and end-user security best practices
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Experience in performing risk assessment, IT audits, security planning, systems accreditation and policy development
    • Experience conducting or coordinating vulnerability assessments and penetration tests
    • Experience developing and maintaining written security controls, compliance, and defining remediation strategies
    • Develop, implement, maintain, and monitor compliance of policies, procedures and associated plans
    • Participate in the design and implementation of centralized user access control administration to internal software applications
    • Preserve all records indicating changes made to access control lists to facilitate audits and other investigations
    • Ability to work with business stakeholders to align security solutions with business strategy
    • Ability to maintain detailed program metrics around initiative goals
    • Excellent change management and issue resolution skills with the ability to deliver results
    • Ability to work in an office setting, operate a telephone system, and a computer
    • Ability to travel between office locations in Madison, Wisconsin (approximately 8 mile radius)


    Minimum Requirements

    • Minimum of 2+ years relevant work experience in security management, network security devices, security practices, infrastructure security in a regulated environment
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or experience in a related technical discipline
    • Solid understanding of networking and desktop technology and proven methods on providing innovative solutions to customers
    • Strong customer focus with a track record for driving delivery and operational performance improvements across an organization
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as customer service and organizational skills
