  • Summary of Major Responsibilities

    The Pipeline Finance Director partners with the Pipeline function to consult and guide on a portfolio of pipeline products. This role will bring financial rigor to the Pipeline function and oversee investment decisions. This role will drive financial planning and forecasting for pipeline projects, serve as a key financial interface between the pipeline and accounting functions, work cross-functionally to drive pipeline initiatives and lead the team through investment decisions - delivering within strict timelines and budget.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Partner with the Pipeline function to strategize financial modeling and consult on financial considerations.
    • Consult with stakeholders to build and maintain project proposals; determine goals, time frame, funding, allotment of resources and procedures for accomplishing projects.
    • Support financial due diligence process of pipeline activity.
    • Act as liaison between the Pipeline function and the General and Technical Accounting teams.
    • Troubleshoot problems associated with coordination, development, or design of opportunities.
    • Oversee investment decisions, consult on financial implications of decisions.
    • Ability to think through accounting implications and understand general accounting impacts to escalate to the finance team.
    • Makes recommendations to executive leadership on financial methods, implications, and best practices.
    • Directly or indirectly leads cross-functional teams to execute on project tasks to include effective creation and management of timelines, budgets, resources, risks and project objectives.
    • Maintain morale and support employee engagement initiatives.

    • Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
    • Regular and reliable attendance.
    • Ability to work designated schedule.
    • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
    • Ability and means to travel between Madison locations.
    • Ability to travel 5% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.


    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
    • 10+ years of experience working in a Finance and/or Accounting role with progressively increased responsibility.
    • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
    • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 3+ years of experience leading or directing people and/or project teams.
    • Designations CFA or CPA.
    • Master’s Degree in Finance or related field.
    • 3+ years of experience working in the Healthcare or Biotech industry.
    • 3+ years of experience working in a startup/entrepreneurial environment.
