Summary of Major Responsibilities

The Senior Manager, Warehouse oversees all warehouse operations for Precision Oncology in Redwood City, a Division of Exact Sciences Corporation, to support business needs. Oversees receiving, shipping, and incoming raw material inspection, and providing support across all functions of the organization.  This role is responsible for developing and maintaining warehouse processes, cleanliness, organization, safety compliance, and space planning across all Exact Sciences warehouse locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Approve change control processes and oversee change controls initiated by the warehouse/distribution department.
  • Oversee management of receiving activities within the warehouses to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of goods.
  • Review and approve applicable standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for the processing of materials in SAP and through the Receive Inspection system, and label materials accordingly.
  • Ensure control of non-conforming materials where necessary.
  • Determine warehouse related processes and procedures, and monitors for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure team is accurately trained on all processes and procedures.
  • Partner cross functionally to support teams and functions that use the warehouse services.
  • Support multiple internal departments, including Sales and Marketing, HR, IT, and R&D in the receipt of materials and fulfillment of internal material requests to meet business requirements, liaising with distribution, planning, procurement, and logistics teams, as needed.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally within the Operations department and lead meetings with other teams in the department.
  • Supervise staff including but not limited to organize and prioritize work, write/conduct performance reviews, train/develop, and manage work performance.
  • Aid in maintenance and development of departmental job descriptions.
  • Communicate goals clearly to employees to ensure understanding and success in achieving them.
  • Motivate and inspire employees to do their best work through coaching.
  • Maintain morale and support employee engagement initiatives.
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the department. Schedules personnel per workload at respective locations. Able to assist each member of the team when needed.
  • Establish maintenance of appropriate metrics and departmental goals and priorities. Oversee the management and control of materials in the warehouse.
  • Establishing and monitoring KPI’s and take necessary actions when targets are not met.
  • Represent department on inter-departmental projects, as assigned.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of receipt and inspection of raw materials used in production of a medical device.
  • Determine and continuously monitor space requirements for storage of goods for both ambient and cold storage.
  • Identify and implement appropriate equipment and systems to support efficient warehouse operations; including, but not limited to racking, material handling equipment, labeling, warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Identify process improvements and assist in driving changes that lead to productivity and cost savings.
  • Support development of safety and security policies and procedures for warehouse operations including operation of material handling equipment.
  • Responsible for ensuring a safe operating environment by implementation of appropriate signage, training practices, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Assist warehouse team with initiating corrective and preventative actions.
  • Effectively lead and manage change within the warehouse organization to meet the customer needs across all locations.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.
  • Ability to work on a computer and phone simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights.
  • Ability to work with hazardous or flammable materials (e.g. chemicals, radioactivity, electrical equipment) so as not to endanger oneself or others.
  • Ability and means to travel between Redwood City locations.
  • Ability to travel 10% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or related field; or high school degree/general education diploma and 4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
  • 8+ years of experience in an operations role in a similar capacity.
  • 3+ year of experience with Warehouse Management/ERP systems.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a regulated environment and is familiar with GMP and/or ISO 13485 regulations.
  • 2+ years of experience with remote warehouse feeding multiple manufacturing locations.
  • Professional working knowledge of warehouse operating best practices.
  • Possession or ability to obtain a forklift certification within 3 months of employment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience working with cold storage requirements.
  • Familiar with International shipping regulations and customs.
