Summary of Major Responsibilities

This successful candidate will possess the skills to effectively communicate with Exact Sciences’ Quality and Manufacturing teams to plan the production and release of materials, as well as engage with vendors, contract manufacturers and affiliates to track and monitor spend, product supply and overall performance. The successful candidate will work with cross functional teams to identify areas of opportunity to improve materials management and replenishment programs supporting on-going operations. This successful candidate will be a key contributor to the Supply Chain Management team by providing strategic input on cost saving initiatives and supplier/partner related issues. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage new part set-up, bill of materials, product forecasts, re-order points, work orders, purchase orders and safety stock levels.
  • Manage the materials purchases using development and commercial forecasts along with setting the appropriate safety stock levels to maintain inventory at planned levels.
  • Manage purchase requisitions for all non-forecasted and non-safety stock level items, including capital equipment.
  • Support new product launch and key research and development programs with purchasing and materials planning.
  • Initiate second sourcing opportunities and cost savings initiatives, which include make versus buy cost models.
  • Work with Supply Chain Management and Finance to reconcile any purchase order discrepancies.
  • Partner with Legal to initiate confidentiality agreements, contracts and supply agreements, when necessary.
  • Manage and adjust current product and test-related forecasts based on usage and business growth.
  • Participate on cross-functional teams responsible for securing and maintaining CLIA certification, CAP accreditation, ISO 15189 accreditation, ISO 13485 certification, NY laboratory regulations and state licensure activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain or related field; or High School Degree/General Education Diploma and 4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in developing cost models around volume-based discounts and tiered pricing.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Procure-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash processes.
  • Proficient in the holistic practices of materials planning, procurement and forecasting in a MRP system.
  • Proficient in building highly complex, multi-level BOMs. 
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and database applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience working in a buying and planning role, including experience in a Life Sciences, Biotech, or Medical Device company. 
  • Experience in procuring and planning IVD products.
  • Experience with ERP or MRP implementations.
  • Team player with strong history of driving process improvements.
