Summary of Major Responsibilities

We are looking for a motivated and seasoned Laboratory Informatics Program Manager to join our growing team at Exact Sciences. The position will be responsible for the overall program management of the Laboratory Informatics platform at Exact Sciences. The Laboratory Informatics Program Manager will have oversight of multiple programs/projects and will lead and manage the Laboratory Informatics Program Team, which includes key business and technical leaders. You will be working with various business stakeholders from our Laboratory Operations team to implement various Laboratory Informatics programs and projects. The Laboratory Informatics Program Manager will be working with individual project managers and leads to address solution scope definition, project processes, and project execution to ensure the overall success of the Laboratory Informatics platform.  You will be accountable for the successful program planning and delivery of Laboratory Informatics efforts and manage across the various stakeholders and partners, setting out a mid to long-term program execution roadmap to determine our project deliveries, phasing of scope and realistic deliverables. You must demonstrate core program and project management competencies, including communication, strategic alignment, project management, resource estimates, and ensure team cohesion at both program and project level. In addition, the ideal candidate must have a proven track record of program/project managing LIMS solutions and related processes, identifying, and resolving project and program issues effectively and be comfortable working with a diverse group of Business leads, Senior Executives, Project Managers and implementation partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Laboratory Informatics Platform Lifecycle Manager to help develop platform strategy, roadmap development, requirements management processes; including feature definition and estimation, technical delivery processes, testing, and training.
  • Influence Laboratory Informatics platform delivery roadmap by determining priorities, estimating work effort with Project managers and the Lab Operations team, and tracking progress against deliverables.
  • Manage at a program level to drive all phases of the implementation of the project, from the planning to companywide rollout and training, ensuring the accomplishment of desired scope, timeline, and quality.
  • Coach and mentor other project managers and assist across planning scope, schedule, risk, stakeholder management, cross-team collaboration, and the synchronization of effort to drive project outcomes.
  • Drive initial discovery sessions with cross-functional business leaders to help assess the business needs and the key motivations to start a project, and takes the lead in creating scope and project documentation.
  • Maintain plans and report program status dashboards at Program, Team, Key Stakeholder, regular monthly executive program status updates, and Executive Steering Committee levels.
  • Participate in resource alignment, process improvements, and project prioritization.
  • As a thought leader, actively seeks and synthesizes feedback from internal users and customers to continuously identify improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor performance across project portfolio, and recommends schedule changes, project adjustments or resource additions.
  • Track performance of third-party vendors to help ensure they provide the required level of resources, support, assist with the creation of SOW’s, and ensure successful project execution.
  • Plan and guide post-implementation activities, such as companywide rollout training, etc.
  • Lead meeting presentations with stakeholders to move forward key tasks and escalate significant process bottlenecks, anticipated delays, and critical path analysis.
  • Extensive understanding of program and project management processes, principles, and methodologies (both Waterfall and Agile - Scrum).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years Project/Program management experience with demonstrated record of accomplishment in progressive levels of responsibility.
  • 5+ years direct Project/Program management experience leading the implementation of LIMS applications, such as Abbott StarLIMS, Clarity LIMS, Sampleminded LIMS, etc.; Preferably in a Life Sciences, Pharma or Medical Devices company.
  • 5+ years of experience in vendor management and risk management.
  • 5+ years of experience coordinating with external systems integrators and vendors.
  • 5+ years of experience using Project Management software, Visio, PowerPoint, and all MS Office Tools.
  • Proven track record of delivering results.
  • Strong business operations knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree. 
  • PgMP/PMP or equivalent certification. 
  • Experience working with CAP/CLIA Lab procedures and personnel.
