Summary of Major Responsibilities

Exact Sciences is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer I with a strong background in customer facing web application design and development.  This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting Sitecore based web application solutions in a fast-paced, high growth bio-tech company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy Sitecore platform-based websites and solutions.
  • Contribute to developing software engineering standards, practices, and reusable components.
  • Participate in all phases of application development; including requirements, analysis, design, development, testing, and support.
  • Create and deliver technical presentations.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) teams, product owners, and vendors, on all aspects of software development.
  • Mentor junior engineers.
  • Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
  • Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Passion for researching new or emerging trends and technologies in the web application development space.
  • Ability to work designated schedule.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability and means to travel between Redwood City locations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; or High School Degree/General Education Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
  • 8+ years of development experience with building customer facing web applications and websites.
  • 6+ years of proficiency in web front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • 5+ years of solid experience with using Sitecore, including the Sitecore Experience Platform, Sitecore Experience Manager, Helix, and Solr to develop solutions or configuring and administrating Sitecore, as well as making version upgrades.
  • 3+ years of development experience with the .NET Framework.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of coding applications that support multiple languages/locales.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Responsive Web Design Frameworks.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Relational Databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of SOAP and RESTful web services. 
  • Demonstrated working knowledge with web standards for optimal SEO and analytics, and global standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing and developing apps that access and or utilize cloud-based frameworks (e.g., Azure, Heroku, Google App Engine, Amazon AWS Services/SDKs, etc.).
  • Experience with Akamai CDN.
  • Familiarity with Mobile app development for iOS or Android.
  • Experience with web and mobile accessibility standards.
  • Understanding of Agile/SCRUM methodologies.
