Summary of Major Responsibilities

The Senior Trainer acts as a float trainer and subject matter expert across multiple Customer Care Center subfunctions for new hire and existing employee training with guided direction of the department supervisor and Training & Development Manager. In addition, the Senior Trainer works closely with the Training & Development Supervisor and classroom training teams to ensure consistency in classroom delivery and content updates.  Outside of the classroom, the Senior Trainer assists the Training & Development Manager in the design, delivery, and execution of training programs and projects that support the entire lifecycle of team members within the CCC.  In this position, the Senior Trainer supports Exact Sciences through subject matter and training expertise which ensures that training solutions honor the complexity of cross-functional workflows and processes. Through data reporting, the Senior Trainer also suggests potential subjects for retrain and assists in the delivery of those subjects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • All assigned job duties are performed following laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Delivers training exercises to meet training objectives, specifically across 2 or more subfunctions within the CCC within 6 months of beginning in the role.
  • Provides subject matter and adult learning expertise in the development and design of training solutions.
  • Assists in the designs, development, and delivery of training programs related to all parts of the employee lifecycle.
  • Identifies training trends and needs by assessing overall status of quality data, employee needs, and business needs.
  • Assists in ensuring classroom consistency by facilitating and leading communication between classroom training teams (pods).
  • Provides adult learning expertise in the redesign and/or refresh of classroom activities.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and motivating others, even when not in a position of authority.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching and developing others in adult learning and classroom management best practices.
  • Develops and administers written and practical exams to assess trainees' performance.
  • Responsible for retraining employees and executing on continued training plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify trainee needs and tailor training programs to meet those needs.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing workload and circumstances effectively.
  • Ability to respond to new information quickly.
  • In accordance with ES Labs record retention policy, maintains accurate records of training.
  • Collaborate with Training & Development Manager as well as other trainers, cross-functionally, to ensure consistency in training and re-training processes across the organization.
  • Excellent time management skills. Employee must also be disciplined, self-motivated & reliable.
  • Must be able to remain focused on a task and work independently without constant supervision.
  • Motivated to perform quality work; diligent about arriving to work on time and completing tasks that are assigned in a timely manner.
  • Maintains a positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact and build solid working relationships with peers at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to work designated schedule of M-F normal business hours.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work seated for approximately 50 % of a typical working day. Ability to work standing for approximately 50% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree; or High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of Associates degree.
  • 3+ years of peer to peer training or education experience.
  • Basic computer skills to include Internet navigation, Email usage, and word processing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with the Epic EHR.
