Summary of Major Responsibilities

Exact Sciences is seeking an experienced individual with demonstrated statistical and computational skills to participate in the post-marketing support of oncology screening and diagnostic products. The individual will coordinate and collaborate with internal and external team members in the design, analysis, reporting, and publication of clinical studies and real-world evidence generation. The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing high dimensional data, preferably genomic data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform statistical activities in support of clinical studies, medical affairs activities, and real-world evidence generation. Support may include, but is not limited to, protocol and analysis plan development; data analysis; data visualizations; and preparation of study reports, abstracts, posters, and manuscripts. These activities may be undertaken under the supervision of a more senior member of the statistics group.
  • Provide consultation to study teams and data management function in the development of clinical study databases, data analysis pipelines, and data quality specifications.
  • Support analysis of clinical laboratory experience data and associated publications.
  • Work on problems of diverse scope in which analysis of data may require the application of complex statistical methodologies. Exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Perform routine work independently and with general instructions on new assignments. Draft deliverables may be reviewed by a more senior member of the statistics function before being shared with other functions.
  • This is an individual contributor role with no management responsibilities.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability and means to travel between Redwood City locations.
  • Ability to travel 10% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.


Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD. in Biostatistics or Statistics; or Master’s degree in Biostatistics or Statistics and 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of Ph.D.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in industry or academia; including effective programming skills in SAS, experience with design and analysis of controlled clinical trials and/or observational studies, and publishing results from clinical or epidemiologic studies.
  • Professional working knowledge of theoretical and applied statistics.
  • Basic computer skills to include Internet navigation, Email usage, and word processing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of epidemiologic methods, oncology, and genomics.
  • Experience with clinical trials and post-marketing research.
  • Knowledge of R programming.
