Summary of Major Responsibilities

The Integrations Strategy Director is a highly visible, influential, and interactive position that serves as an expert resource and consultant to executive management in the assessment of integration strategy initiatives. This role will guide and execute the integration process flow as Exact Sciences continues to add products, technologies, and businesses to its infrastructure. This role will develop integration strategies during evaluation, diligence, and closing phases of mergers, acquisitions, commercial partnerships, and technology-based deals. The role will also lead the execution phase of deals in post-transaction phases to enhance the integration efficiency of people, processes, and technology across the organization. This role will partner across the business functions of Exact Sciences to ensure alignment of strategy and activities holistically throughout the integration.  This role will support a collaborative environment that promotes positive teamwork, where all members are working for the good of Exact Sciences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop long- and short-term strategic plans; provide process direction and tactical plans to progress the company’s business development integrations.
  • Manage all integration activities across Exact Sciences’ inorganic growth strategy.
  • Execute the organizational, commercial, operational, and financial plans of any given integration in a consistent manner.
  • Manage cross-functional relationship dependencies.
  • Manage and identify risks and control timelines to effectively execute integrations.
  • Partner strategically with business development to evaluate integration or operational opportunities with the integration process in mind.
  • Support due diligence efforts as it relates to integration best practices.
  • Lead, manage, and execute ad-hoc cross-functional integration strategy projects involving external consultants and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Support clear barriers to team progress and resolve conflicts within and outside the team.
  • Cultivate interdepartmental relationships to meet the needs of challenges that will arise to drive progress on integrations.
  • Implement a structure and project process that emphasizes teamwork, performance, and a consistent sense of urgency at all levels.
  • Lead both directly and indirectly through projects and develop continued improvements in the process and alignment of integration strategies that serve the greater growth of the organization.
  • Communicate clearly and frequently with all levels of the organization; including, but not limited to, integration strategy team members, core and extended project team members, functional managers, commercial organization, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Oversee the development and execution of high-quality presentations that effectively communicate integration strategy and tie the strategies together into a cohesive story.

  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends, as needed.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability and means to travel between Madison locations.
  • Ability to travel 50% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field as outlined in the essential duties.
  • 12+ years of progressively responsible experience within global diagnostics, life sciences, medical device, or related industry.
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in business leadership roles within global diagnostics, life sciences, medical device, or related industry.
  • 6+ years of experience leading or directing people and/or project teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field as outlined in the essential duties.
  • 15+ years of progressively responsible experience within global diagnostics, life sciences, medical device, or related companies.
  • Experience working in a global organization.
  • Experience in the cancer care continuum and clinical menu.
  • Experience in a technical and/or scientific capacity in molecular biology.
