The Senior Manager, Cost Accounting leads a team of professionals in general accounting to achieve business objectives and results, and develop the skills, knowledge, and abilities of individuals on the team.
The primary focus of this role is cost accounting and developing, maintaining and improving inventory and cost accounting processes. This position will be responsible for ensuring accurate standard costs for raw materials, work in progress and finished goods, taking into consideration all relevant costs including and labor and overhead rates. The responsibility will also include month-end, quarter-end, and the year-end close process as related to COGS and Inventory in accordance with the company’s internal control procedures. This role will establish close working relationships with operations teams to analyze inventory for potential excess and obsolete reserves and approve related journal entries in accordance with the company’s policies. The role will also include execution of various finance and accounting system implementation and build-out projects, as assigned.
