Summary of Major Responsibilities

The Human Resources Integrations Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of HR integrations of newly acquired entities, from the pre-close assessment and planning process through completed integration post-close. The Human Resources Integrations Manager will oversee and coordinate integration projects across different areas of HR; including, but not limited to, identifying appropriate stakeholders, scheduling meetings, organizing tasks and deliverables, tracking progress, and evaluating success of project upon completion.  The Human Resources Integrations Manager will also create and use templates, checklists, and other resources to enhance integrations efficiency and efficacy. This role will identify metrics to measure integrations success, continually evaluate all aspects of the integrations process against these metrics and implement process improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead HR integration from pre-acquisition to eventual completion post-close.
  • Support diligence-related activities prior to close; including, but not limited to, analyzing HR structure and risks, identifying the need for early involvement by one or more areas of HR, and performing additional diligence activities, as needed.
  • Work in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs) from various HR functions to support completion and communication of HR integration activities; including, but not limited to, employee experience, benefits, compensation, IT systems, employee data storage and retention, titling, reduction in force, severance planning, employee policies training, and first day experience.
  • Support legal in ensuring that compliance and risk reduction is incorporated throughout the integration process.
  • Create checklists, templates, and other resources to facilitate efficient and effective integrations.
  • Streamline the integration process continuously; pinpoint areas of opportunity within the integration process for enhanced efficiency, increased communication, and improved use of strategies across the HR function to deliver more optimal integration programs.
  • Provide recommendations and insight on integration solutions; utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify effective integration strategies; collaborate with others to identify the most efficient and effective way to complete applicable projects.
  • Create internal timelines and deadlines for completion of integration projects; monitor continuously to ensure all integration project areas are on track.
  • Identify potential risks or gaps in project completion and work proactively to mitigate those risks; provide support as needed and ensure deliverables are achieved.
  • Write employee communications and status updates geared toward a variety of audiences (i.e., employees, leadership teams, etc.); provide awareness and essential information regarding integration procedures in a clear and concise manner.
  • Serve as the link between all projects within the HR integration process and maintain up-to-date metrics on project progress and connect the dots between simultaneous changes and updates.
  • Maintain detailed and organized integration documentation and archival.
  • Meet with applicable stakeholders to debrief on the integration process after completion and identify learning moments; maintain a proactive approach in continuous assessment of processes.
  • Identify metrics to measure integration performance and facilitate ongoing performance measurement after integration process is complete.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability and means to travel 5% between local Exact Sciences locations.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, or other field as outlined in the essential duties; or High School Diploma/General Education Degree and 4 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in human resources, law, or other related field as outlined in the essential duties.
  • 2+ years of in-depth experience with business integrations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, time-sensitive initiatives.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to build close working relationships and establish trust.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills, business intuition, and organizational ability.
  • Demonstrated excellent time management skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously and deliver high quality results on time.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, openness to change, and demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous situations and quickly respond to new information or unexpected circumstances.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail; demonstrated quality-oriented approach with the ability to see the big picture.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with little oversight and direction.
  • Basic computer skills to include internet navigation, email usage, and word processing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook to include Excel macros and pivot tables and Word mail merge.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of in-depth experience with business integrations.
  • Experience and/or background in employment compliance and/or law.
  • Experience with complex integrations involving international and/or California-based acquisitions. 
  • In-depth knowledge of complex business transactions.
