Summary of Major Responsibilities

The Delivery Driver (known internally as Distribution Associate I) will complete a variety of transportation duties with an emphasis on inter-office material movements, remote storage, and vehicle scheduling. The Delivery Driver will also provide support to ongoing process development and improvements. This position will work within defined protocols and procedures and may aid in the development and documentation of new procedures for the department. This individual will work cross functionally with individuals at Exact Sciences Corporate and Exact Sciences Laboratories to ensure departmental needs are met.


The hours for this position are Friday - Monday from 9:00am - 7:30pm. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Transport materials daily between both internal and external local locations driving a straight truck.
  • Transport packages in compliance with state and federal regulations. Work with other Warehouse or Distribution employees to ensure the proper paperwork accompanies each shipment.
  • Load trucks by properly placing and securing items. Unload trucks using material handling equipment when applicable.
  • Complete and maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) logs when applicable.
  • Facilitate shipment of outgoing materials or products from all locations.
  • Follow Exact Sciences’ Corporate truck scheduling process.
  • Maintain maintenance schedule of fleet.
  • Contact appropriate employee and/or department with receipt, pickup and delivery details when applicable.
  • Support internal needs for delivery of materials to local external facilities.
  • Assist in the evaluation of new distribution equipment and software.
  • Resolve internal and external issues with delivered materials through root-cause analysis.
  • Represent department in cross functional projects.
  • Support and comply with the company's environmental health and safety (EHS) procedures.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 25% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.
  • Ability to work on a computer and phone simultaneously.
  • Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Ability and means to travel between Madison locations.
  • Ability to travel 10% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 2+ years of experience driving vehicles larger than 10 ft.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a forklift certification.
  • Ability to become certified to operate up to or including a 26-foot straight truck within the first month of employment.
  • Ability to successfully complete any testing or other compliance requirements within the time frame required under applicable law.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, no more than two moving violations in the past 36 months, and no unresolved license revocation or suspension issues. 
  • Proficient in using basic software applications including Microsoft Office.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in a Distribution/Warehouse setting.
  • Understanding of DOT regulations.
